Gulfstar 54 Sailcruiser

A total of 23 Sailcruisers were manufactured by Gulfstar Yachts in St. Petersburg Florida between 1985 and 1986. The company was sold in the late 80's, and the Lazzara family then started Lazzara Yachts which today specializes in large motor yachts.

Sybaris is hull No. 5 and was built during the first half of 1986. She was delivered in June 1986 and made her maiden voyage from Florida to New York the same month. The second owner bought her in January 1991 and sailed from Florida to Athens (Greece) in May/June 1991. We are the third owners and bought her in February 2006.

We were immediately attracted to the Sailcruiser when we saw an advert in mid 2005 on the web. Our criteria were; live-aboard, large with plenty of space for us and for guests, center cockpit, ocean going, good engine, comfortable, relatively good on sails, handled by two people, and we also love nice designs.

To us the Gulfstar 54 Sailcruiser has all of that and much more, without compromise.

Having lived aboard and traveled for quite some time now she has really lived up to all expectations, and even exceeded when it comes to her sailing capabilities. Please contact us if you want to know more about the Sailcruiser and find out in more detail why it is a fantastic boat.
